Okay. So, there are, what, 7 seconds left? You, as the Bills, know that the Cowboys have ONE OPTION: the 5-6 yard throw to the sideline to try to get better position for a field goal. How, then, did Crayton get so wide open at the sideline six yards out? The Bills defense played well for 59 minutes and 53 seconds but that one play lost them the game.
And Nick Folk is a beast.
It'll be fun to take first place back next week, when I don't have everyone on bye.
This was a very tortuous game for me to watch. I anticipated a blowout and therefore didn't think there would be any conflicting emotions.
To provide some background: I grew up in Buffalo and a Bills fan. I died when they lost four Superbowls in a row. I died when the Dallas Stars beat the Buffalo Sabres in the Stanley Cup Finals in the '99. My life will not be complete unless I witness the Bills or Sabres win it all.
But I've lived in the Dallas area for 14 years now. I managed to hate the Cowboys until the end of last season; I had to admit I felt really disappointed when Romo muffed the snap, then didn't score the touchdown. Bummer.
So the Cowboys started out hot this year, while the Bills laid an egg. I figured, okay, no problem: I know the Cowboys will win. I'll just kinda root for them.
Then the came got real close. I just COULDN'T ROOT AGAINST THE BILLS. And I died again last night when my team lost. :(
Waaaay late to this thread, but I'll say it One. More. Time.
It's a lot harder to get to a Super Bowl in the first place than it is to win once you're there -- it's one game versus what, 19 or 20? And the Bills did it four times. Yes, they broke my heart too, but they still had a pretty darn good run under Marv Levy.
