apples ahoy. My sister in PA is sending us a care package of apples to devour. We're looking forward to some with taste that also aren't mealy b/c that's all we get around here.
What's wrong with mealey?

I just came back from our local Apple Butter Frolic. They had a table full of delicious-looking heirloom apples. I wish I could have tried some, but the line was long and the kid was antsy.

Also, it was fargin' HOT. The sun is interfering with my harvest fun.

All you get is mealy apples? Really? My local green grocers has some excellent stuff. I stocked up on a load of crisp, tangy Braeburns this morning.

On the subject of heirloom thingies, Specklet and I had some heirloom tomatoes when I was over with her. They. Were. Amazing. I've never tasted tomatoes like that.

heh psmealey. Mealy's ok for corn or oats, but not apples. Galas and honey crisps are apparently on the way.

I think I've only had heirloom tomatoes once - and yeah they were really good - good enough to eat like an apple!
