I finally had my first . . . MetaChat dream! [More:]More than one, actually -->

Mudpuppie, Specklet, shane and I were all at a bar together. Jonmc was tending bar. I had made a bet with mudpuppie that she couldn't guess who had made a comment about her in one of the threads here. I can't remember the comment now, but I did when I first woke up. I had written the comment in the memo line of a check for $20, and told her I'd sign it if she guessed the commenter.

She did, right away - it was paulsc. And the rest of the dream is a little hazy - jonmc making drinks for us, a warm feeling of camraderie and friendship, lots of laughter.

I woke up and thought, YES!, finally I had my MetaChat dream, I'll have to post this tomorrow. Fell back asleep and dreamed about posting this . . .

Then later in the night I dreamed that, for our five year anniversary, I organized some effort to print a MetaChat book with a beautiful hardcover, containing all the posts from those first five years so we'd all have them, forever.

Weird. I can only guess at what the first one might have meant. I think I've been yearning lately for a close friend, a best friend or whatever. We have lots of friends, but most of them are through mrs. tr33, and I wouldn't say I'm particularly close to anyone right now in my life except for her. They're all "hang-out" friends, not close, though I do care for them all.

I guess I've always had a hard time making close friends. The last really close friendship I had (I also dreamed about him last night) ended in a very hurtful way for me, as he just pretty much wrote me out of his life with no real explanation.

But I am glad to have you all. I've been busy at work and home lately, so not around as much, but that's the way it works with me - peaks and valleys.

Anyway, sweet dreams all!
Weird that you would mention a MetaChat book - I had a sorta dream about one too, but I *think* there was, at one time, a real book (or something) in the works....years ago. I remember editing some submissions, and one really stood out as a great little story. I think seanyboy wrote it, but maybe not. dg contributed something as well. I wonder if anyone has any freaking clue as to what I'm talking about.

If a comment by paulsc fit on the memo line of your check, all I can say is that line must be really really really long, like this:

I wrote something for the book. I fear it was abandoned. I was quite proud of my submission, too. ¡Ahi! ¡Mi vida vacía!

Thanks, dano! I wonder what happened to the submissions? I'd love to read through them again. I didn't see all of them - I tanked out of proofreading after a couple of weeks so I only got to see the first things submitted.

We should appoint tr33hggr to start up the book again, since his dream was obviously a precursor to this actually happening ;)

I would do that.

I remember and submitted for the book. Prophecy! Further prophecy - I had a metachat dream last night. Due to the high exposure in the NYT, jonmc and pips had moved on up to a lovely spacious apt (still in Queens) and graciously hosted me for brunch. Then I ran around doing errands and jonmc was calling me with Important Updates About Stupid Internet Feuds, but I couldn't remember my voicemail password. Prophecy, I say!

Hope you have lots of time on your hands . . . could be awhile. Stupid financial troubles!

Me in a bar having fun? Why, that's startling accurate! *whuffles tr33*

Dude, why doesn't anyone dream about me?! I blame the government.

Really? I don't remember doing that.

I would do that.

If that does happen, I'd happily volunteer as a proofreader. Looks like it'll be a long, slow winter work-wise, so I'll have plenty of time on my hands.

SassHat, I dream about you, I'm sure of it. Why else would I wake up hungover with sore laughing-muscles when I've spent the evening at home? Unless it's the space aliens...
