This is an observation thread Today's random observation: Organic Grape-Nuts taste funny→[More:]They aren't as good as the non-organic ones. They're less substantial and taste sort of bitter and burnt. It's very strange.
Being happy creates a feedback loop in which new stimuli make you even happier.
I know this, but I feel like it actually somehow became encoded in my body this week.
Also, sandwiches made with peanut butter (organic) and plum jam (homemade) on sprouted multigrain organic "OMG I'm so totally California now, aren't I?" bread are wicked awesome.
Postum is robust, hearty, and flavorful; it's quite good for an ersatz coffee essentially made from Grape Nuts.
High school gridiron football is more fun live than either the college or the pro game.
Husky Rescue kinda remind me of Fleetwood Mac, though not the "Tusk" Mac with the marching band, more like the lengthy atmospheric Buckingham Mac, aka Mac'n'Cheese.
haha you must be, because I've been eating that way my whole life.
Yeah, I think the bread's actually called "California style." And I believe it's the sproutiest and multigrainiest of the line.
I have a hole in the sole of my shoe. I knew that I had a hole in the sole of my shoe when I put it on this morning, but I put it on anyway. Now I'm not sure why I did such a thing, because the sole of my foot is starting to hurt.
Observation 1: Wood is heavy. A lot of rained-on wood is very heavy. A cord of rained-on wood is very very heavy indeed and takes a lot of time and energy to stack. And then it smokes like crazy, even though a mere 2 days ago it was well-seasoned and not nearly as heavy. Also, I need a bigger tarp.
Observation 2: My neighbour's cat is exceptionally ugly and sounds like it should have a tracheotomy. Whoever hit it in the face with that plank as a kitten did it no favours at all.
Oh, and we all know it's true, but I confirmed today that home-grown tomatoes are so incredibly good that it's like they're a different foodstuff entirely from even the best store-bought ones.

It sure does. Sometimes, driving home, all I have to do is look at the color of the paint on the car ahead of me and I start grinning like an idiot and singing out loud.
Iced coffee is better with sugar, but hot coffee is better without. I do not expect anyone else to agree with me about this.
As opposed to regular Grape Nuts? Even regular Grape Nuts taste like ground up dog biscuit (don't ask how I know).
Observation: Textbooks thrown from a third floor classroom window will enrage even the mildest mannered of principals (NOT my classroom; if it was my room, the student would have followed the books out the window... such toughness, never-the-less, does not prevent recalcitrant Student A from referring to me as "stupid English teacher" after I moved her seat. Just wait till she wants a college reommendation.)
(I completely agree on the coffee, tangerine... that's just how I take it.)
Nerves and blood vessels don't ever cross the center line of your body, which is obvious, but you never really consciously think about it until the lidocaine numbness only covers half your tongue, and only to the very center of your lips, and one side of your nose.
Hamsters are wonderful, and an immense comfort, but can't match up to a person for snugglyness.
