('merican) Football updates for non-fans? →[More:]Anyone know of a website / email service that gives weekly summaries of that weekend's football results (college and pro)? Without ESPN, I find myself woefully uninformed when I get to the office on Monday & Tuesday. I don't care enough to actually watch these games, but I fancy myself enough of a general sports fan that I still like to participate in the inevitable chat.

Most sports websites are unbearable...I'm hoping there's a geeky streamlined solution out there.

Not geeky, or a cliff note synopsis, but sites like USA Today, or ESPN, Sportsline, SI all have summaries of every game.

I've been hearing good things about Football Outsiders lately, but it's just NFL, and it might be a lot more information than you're looking for.

I subscribe to the Football Outsiders rss feed and like it, but it's probably not what you're looking for. Much more analysis and strategy than the results of games. Also, they tend to refer to the FO "system" for rating players and teams a lot, which is kind of annoying. It's an interesting statistics-based system but I haven't had the time to really go through it and understand it, so the references are lost on me.
