22 September 2007

I have the feeling that this is my dog! He disappeared 2 months ago. I don't want to get my hopes up but I just emailed her and left a voicemail on her phone. My dog is a corgi, is brownish reddish and did have a blue collar on. I put an ad on craigslist 2 months ago and someone who saw that ad emailed me about this post, which is on Petfinder.com.
Good luck!

I was just looking at a Lost Cat poster yesterday and wondering what percentage of those cats were ever found, let alone because of a poster. All the same, when we lose a pet, we grasp at any straw just to keep hope alive. I sure pray that your straw spins into gold and your story has a fairy tale ending.

Hope you hear back soon and that it's your doggie. What a wonderful reunion it will be if it's the right dog.

Updates?

No updates, can you believe? I should call her again but I don't want to be pushy until Monday night. She may be someone who only goes online at work during the week, although that doesn't explain why she isn't responding to the voicemail. Ack!
posted by iconomy 23 September | 14:47
Fuck that, I'd be looking up her phone number in a reverse directory and showing up on her doorstep.

(because I am subtle like that.)

It wasn't my dog. They found a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and mine's a Cardigan Welsh Corgi - the kind with the long tail.

My husband kept saying nope, that doesn't describe our dog, so don't get your hopes up, because she didn't mention that the dog had big white patches (and our dog does), so he was right.

But that's ok - my dog's out there somewhere and someone will find the old rascal. Thanks for all the well-wishes and good thoughts!

Oh, iconomy - I'm sorry. Was really hoping that it was him.

Don't be sorry, because yesterday a co-worker told me that someone found her dog after 9 months! And I personally have had a cat that disappeared and then came back 4 YEARS later.

It was crazy. I had totally forgotten about her and had written her off as dead. There was a mewing at the door, and the instant I heard it I was OMG THAT'S EMMA. HOLY SHIT. I was almost afraid to open the door, but I did, and there she was, and she waltzed right in like she had been out for 5 minutes.
posted by iconomy 24 September | 21:43
Aw. Sorry that wasn't him, ike. The Emma story is pretty amazing... wouldn't you love to know what transpired during those four years? Bizarre.
