11 September 2007

One month. The first Bunnystock II: Bunnystocker arrivals (gaspode, maybe TPS+crew) will be here one month from today![More:]

Everyone has been keeping the wiki up to date, which is sweet. But, people planning to stay with me: please let me know for sure by email before October 1 so's I can logisticate.

Also, should I be planning any activities? A day at Motorworld would be fun; they have go-karts, mini-golf, paintball, and some other fun stuff, and the prices are reasonable. Naturally, I assume much time will be spent at the beach.

If anybody has an in with a weather god or a mad scientist, now would be the time to request warm temperatures and sunny skies. KTHXBYE.
GO-KARTS! I definitely vote for go-karts.

Also, check your email! I've got a transportation question for ya, since I'm finally buying my plane ticket this morning.

Ha! I love the front page of that Motorworld site. "CLICK A COLOR IMAGE TO FIND OUT MORE..."

They must be good; they have color!!

Motorworld sounds like a must!

Plane tickets are bought. Woo! I still have to rent a car and book a hotel.

Gaspode, I know you're heading out on Saturday. How about everybody else? I debated between departing on Sunday, 8:20am versus 3:20pm. I chose the 3:20 flight. Enough time to sleep in a bit, grab a bite, and head to the airport.

Mike, how is the weather usually in October? No worries here if it's warm or not. I'd actually appreciate a little nip in the air.

Bought my plane ticket, too... yeeha! :)

Lori, remember that if you stay at the Ramada, there will be several other folks there with cars (incl. me- I ended up getting a deal on one through Orbitz).

Thanks BP. I thought I could grab a ride with somebody. I'm arriving pretty early at Norfolk airport (10:30). I don't want to inconvenience anyone. I've noticed that rentals are pretty reasonable, around 25 bucks a day. So, not a problem if I have to rent. And if I think y'all are a bunch of drips I can shag out early. HA! Kidding!

If I can get a ride or taxi to the hotel from the airport, I think I'll be set. I'm going to email you BP in a bit; I'm off to work now. I'm curious about your arrivals and departures. :)

Pips and jonmc and anybody else. Please Please Please come if you can.

Woo hoo! So excited. Still figuring out exactly when we're going to show....

October could go either way, LoriFLA. It could be in the 50s or it could be (like 2006) still in the 80s. I found a water temperature guide that said to expect water temps in the low 70s. I would prefer nice weather because we have non-beach bums coming and I know they'll want to beach it up.

Lori, you will have a ride to and from the airport, whether it's me or someone else. There will be plenty of people with cars excited to meet you, no worries!

(Has anyone checked if the Ramada has a shuttle from the airport? Long shot, especially off-season, but worth a check!)

Yeah, we have to be in Baltimore for a function on Saturday evening. So I hope y'all are ready to tear it up as soon as you get in on Friday!

(oh and we will have a car too, for pickups, if required)

Meh, we did all that Motorworld stuff at Glastonbunny, except we had trampolines, a fort, a train and boulders too. Oh, and 99s.

Is anyone coming through the DC area on their way to/from the event?

I'd wanted my lawyer to get in touch with the harridan designer today, but that didn't happen. I do understand why the contractor wants to have a look before the work starts, but I don't know when I can schedule it, so the start date may well have to be pushed back yet AGAIN--which means I won't be able to come---GRRRR!

ramix, you're getting married?!? Congratulations!!!

For you bunnystockers, hug each other at least once for me. And engage in some gratuitous ass-grabbery. Please and thank you. damndamndamnsowishIcouldbethere

SWEAT! Found the proper thread. I haven't been too active on MeFi lately, but have been lurking while getting things geared up. Planning on attending the meetup. Could you mark my name down?

I live in Norfolk, and don't have to work on/around the days of the meeteup, so if anyone needs rides or recommendations, yell. My email address should be in my profile.

Additionally, if you're looking for cheap lodgings, lemme know. I've recently moved into a townhouse and have room for... lots. No furniture, though, so you'd have to rough it with sleeping bags/air mattresses.

I'm excited! WAHOO!
