"Another hynotic single from Natasha Khan and company, also know as Bat For Lashes. Haunting and minimal are yet again the themes, shrouding Natasha's mysterious purr enveloped in harpsicord and kettle drums. The video, which already ripped across the blog-o-sphere, is a genius execution by Colonel Blimp director Dougal Wilson. Giant mascot headed BMXer's pedal, hop and twist in sync to the subtle pulsing break beats of this trip hop masterpiece. A cliptip favourite with a Donnie Darko-esque bunny headed bullet."

Top choon indeed ;). It was between her and Fionn Regan that I wanted for the Mercury win. Alas, neither did. Instead we got the "forward thinking" Klaxons.

Heee!

I've yet to see Amy's performance at the Mercurys, but people keep saying it was amazing. I do like her latest album, which was massively better than the first, so I guess I should go find it. Next year, if iLikeTrains don't win it, I'll leave the country.

Greece is much better, chuckd - as of yesterday, actually, in my part of the country. Temps are down, it's been raining most places (not here, though), fires are out, people have stopped expiring from heat, flames, and smoke, and I'm cheering up. Horrible devastation remains, of course, but just the lifting of that crazy suffocating heat has been a blessing.

Yeah, it's awesomely dark. His voice is amazing and I love the fact that their lyrics are well researched and really interesting. I'd never heard of Spencer Perceval and, although the name Bobby Fischer rang a bell, I never knew anything about him.

Oh, I don't know anything about everything else you guys/gals are talking about, but I know that I really liked the linked Bat for Lashes video. I also liked the (only other) one linked from the blog that chuckdarwin linked to.

I like her voice, and what she does with it.
