Two movie you may not have seen but you might like to. Romance & Cigarettes (2005) and The Host (2006) →[More:]

Romance & Cigarettes is a musical directed by John Turturro. It has a great cast and it's funny, dark and odd. It's a bit uneven but I liked it. It wowed Cannes and has played all over Europe and South America but never in the U.S. until now. It has a limited run in NYC starting tonight. There is no DVD so you'll have to find it in other ways. I think jonmc may have advised on the music.

The Host is a Korean movie that broke attendance records in Korea. It is an old fashioned monster movie. Men pollute the river. Monster rises from the depths. It's funny and sad and focuses on one family's fight to save one of their own.
