I HAZ NO INTERNETZ Thank god for internet cafes! →[More:]A dollar an hour?! Not too shabby! I was thinking it was going to cost at least as much as a load of laundry.

The stupid landlord lied when they told me the new apt was wired and ready to get the internet going. So now I have to have them come install a line for the DSL because apparently my new apt and the one next to it were once one big apartment. So ARG! Getting cable internet(or cable, if I did that sort of thing) would have taken roughly 600 years. WTF, landlord?

Hi, honey!

It took us 15 days to get dsl here, and they didn't have to do anything special (my upstairs neighbor already had wireless dsl). Bah.

New with moi? Tomorrow the weather changes, hallelujah. This has been the summer from hell, miserably hot temperatures (90F has been low... and we got up to 114F), the whole country burning down, people dying, and then I found out my sweet old lady downstairs neighbor is also dying. She's in the hospital and not expected to recover. Plus, mr. taz has been away all summer working on a film, and I'm also homesick for Thessaloniki.

Not nice. Not a nice summer. But if I could only walk around without turning into a puddle of perspiration, that would help. I've been stuck inside for almost three months because it's just been too much for me to take. Today I went downtown and walked miles and miles, because it was only 93F. That was still pretty miserable, actually. But the weather is supposed to change... tomorrow! Tomorrow is another day! The first day of the rest of my... aaargggghhhhh.

More weather-related grumbling here.

Today was supposed to be the first cool day in a while. ("Was supposed to be" = "is," but this is grumbling, so I'm being liberal with my conjugations.) It was really windy last night, though, and apparently a bunch of stuff started burning. So today, although it's cooler, it's pretty impossible to be outside. It's incredibly smokey, and even a little bit dark outside. The light is kind of orange-ish, though, which is cool.

Also, I smell like a brisket just from walking to the mailbox.

Kick that landlord's ass, Sass.

ugh. yes. The Changing Forecast.

That's been happening here, too. It was supposed to change last week. Every day it would show lower temperatures coming, and then... no. No. Not at all.

And even now... when I looked this morning, the high tomorrow was supposed to be 83F, now I just looked again and it's up to 85. When I get up tomorrow, it'll probably be showing a high of 90. Weather. Will. You. Please. Give. Me. A. Fucking. Break?

there there. Drink some iced tea! Sit in a lukewarm tub! I know of what you speak, I have been in florida july with no A/C. Don't take these long walks, you will heat stroke yourself. It will cool down nicely soon, soon.
