Picking up a half-ton and walking in a circle with it
This is a video of a guy doing the Conan's Wheel, which is a Strongman event.
Simultaneously an impressive feat of physical strength and dull as sin to watch. Which puts it one mark up from golf, so, hey.

hahahah!

"one mark up from golf"

I never would have thought about it that way . . .

That is such a macho bloke thing.

"I bet you can't pick up that half-ton weight and walk in a circle with it."

"I bet I can"

Later, at the autopsy...

Pathologist: "Hmmm ... this is the first time I've ever seen a brain, heart, lungs, stomach, spleen and sphincter all explode at the same time. I wonder what could have caused it?"

I unabashedly love World's Strongest Man (and Woman) competitions. The ones where they carry VW Beetles on their shoulders are the best.

Not to take anything away from the guy, but with the leverage of that contraption he's only gotta lift half the weight, the other half is on the fulcrum.

Picking up a quarter-ton and walking in a circle with it, then. Sorry.

Even with that reduction, it's still about four hundred pounds more than I could do at this point.

I wish ESPN2 would show MORE of World's Strongest Man, instead of showing half of any particular round, out of order, whenever they need to fill a half-hour slot.

If that makes me a hurf-durf illiterate, romance-readin' redneck, then so be it. (sorry, I'm just getting really sick of some of the characterizations I read on the internet and hear in real life.)

(psst, American Gladiators was on ESPN classic at 7 EDT all last week. I'm hoping it'll be on this week, as well).
