Best Starbucks Ever. No, I haven't lost my mind. Take a look at the painted line in the second picture.
Heck, I'd even get a venti-grande-something for that.

Yes, but ... does it really compare in ANY way with PJ's Coffee and Tea or with Rue de la Course?

When I was in college there was this dude at PJ's who claimed his real name was Joe Blow. He was the high wizard of coffee. And when the granita machine broke down, he snuck into the back and brought out the COFFEE CONCENTRATE from which the granitas were made and fixed me up a bootleg granita with like, 4x power. He made me swear not to tell anyone, ever, but I screwed up and told my best friend because we were both such addicts. And yet he still fixed me my bootleg granitas whenever the machine went down.

I also used to like to harass the baristas at Rue by ordering those coffee milkshakes. They hated making those things.

Speaking of which, ColdChef, do you know if Lebanon's has opened back up? Or Ted's FroStop? I heard that Camellia Grill was bought by that jerk from Cranston who likes to pretend he's all Cajun, but I refuse to believe it.

I'll ask some friends who still live in the city.

Love love love PJ's. Wish they'd open one in Baton Rouge. I mean, if Galatoire's can come north, surely they can, too.

Thanks, Chef. And yes, in my ideal universe, PJ's would open up a location here in NY. Just one, though. By my house. And Joe Blow would run the place. :)

My SIL worked for CC's Community Coffee for a long time. Did they pull through?

CC's is alive and thriving. In fact, they just recently rebranded.

The new CC's logo brings together the Community and CC's Coffee House brands. In phase one, the CC's Coffee Brand used on packaging for specialty whole bean and ground coffee in grocery stores became Community Coffee Private Reserve. In phase two, Community Coffee Private Reserve was introduced in the coffeehouses. Now, in this final phase, the CC's Coffee House logo reflects its history within the company.

erm. I (heart) urban renewal. Apparently using the angle bracket breaks the post.

Wow, I love that photo.

I don't like coffee, so Starbucks is a non-issue for me, personally... but yeah, I'd go to this one sometimes if I liked coffee.

That's pretty awesome. I'd visit that Starbucks, if I were down there.

I sure could do with some beignets right about now. I don't think they exist here.
