This lunchtime ... [More:]
... I had to go to the pharmacy and didn't want to face the crush that is Canary Wharf at lunchtime, so I and a friend headed in the other direction, to the residential area known as Cubitt Town on the Isle of Dogs.

On the way back we cut across some open ground and came across a flock of sheep, with a couple of lambs (not really little ones, sadly, but 'teenage' ones). They took not a blind bit of notice of us and just carried on munching.

Here's a few pictures my friend took on his phonecam. I'm glad he took them because we got back about 10 minutes late and my excuse of "it was the sheep" had everyone wondering what drugs I was on until they saw the photos.
So random! I love the one with the skyline in the background.

That is neat.

Jan, I have been meaning to ask you; How are things with your neighbor? Have the police been by to see him again at all?

We get a LOT of sheep here... and cows. What do you call a British Hillbilly? Bumpkin? 'Cause that's what I am.

arse_hat, the police are regular visitors to the neighbour, interviewing him but no arrest. Last week he threw a prostitute out (they are working for him, he's not a john). He's said he'd give her a lift home but once she was out of the door he shut it and refused to answer (his usual pattern). In the end, after half an hour of her trying to batter his door down or climb up onto his balcony he threw some money down to her for her tube fare and she tottered away on 4" heels, carrying a pile of clothes, presumably on the walk to the station, a mile up and down hills.

Things are relatively quiet at the moment but I know it's only a temporary thing, he's a nasty piece of work.

Your neighbour is a pimp?

Lamb chops for supper?

It would appear so, chuck. He's definitely involved in illegal activity, but appears to work outside. He goes out at night around 11, returns at 3, usually with a woman, always very young, 18-22 years old (he's about 60), sometimes Thai or Eastern European, mostly working-class British girls. He's involved in drugs too, although in what capacity I'm not sure, but the woman he threw out the other day told a neighbour she was trying to blag a lift from that he's involved in drugs and prostitution.

Pips! They were sweet little baa-lambs! Not food! Oh, er, yes. They are food.

What a cool break in the day! When's shearing season? I guess they need their coat for winter, huh?

And about that skyline...lot of cranes in that shot. Your area booming?

Thanks for the update jan. I hope they find something about him that can get him sent away.

The whole area has been a building site for 20 years, chewie. The cranes are for the new residential developments at Pan Peninsula and the old London Arena.

I reeeeely shouldn't say it, it's mean spirited, but over here, strikes me funny:

JAN WASH YOUR SHOES AND FEET BEFORE STEPPING INTO YOUR HOME OR OFFICE, ETC.

(sorry)

Wow, that scene is not at all what I see in my head when I think of London.
