Just watched
Wild in the Streets again. I first saw it on TV in 1972.
It is a movie of it's time with just the right amount of camp and some great performances from Shelley Winters, Hal Holbrook, Richard Pryor, Ed Begley, and appearances by Peter Tork, Bobby Sherman, Gary Busey, Walter Winchell, Barry Williams, Billy Mumy, Dick Clark, Melvin Belli, and Army Archerd.
The lead was a handsome, charismatic, and talented,
Christopher Jones.
He was a white hot star for a brief time then he disappeared. (I tried to find the original article I had read about him some years ago in print. It was virtually identical to the bio I linked to but it also mentioned drugs, Bi-Polar disorder, and homelessness) He and Jerry Orbach were good friends.
