I loved the Book Of Lists when I was a kid and I love punk rock, so this is great news. (check the author names).
Omigod, AWESOME. Want.

I loved the Book of Lists as a kid, too. And to think, our very own Wendell was a contributor!

Heh. I was just watching No Reservations and Anthony Bourdain was in ASTORIA! He called it an 'extraordinary neighborhood." WOO-HOO!

Madalyn balled her face into a tight, skeptic’s scowl. ‘You wrote the fucking Book of Lists?’

I too love the Book of Lists. The fucking Book of Lists.

jon, I expect that you convince at least a hundred folks to buy this from your store.

Well, my love of reference books played a big part in my rock fanatacism. When I got into music, I took all the music encyclopedias out of the library and learned how to make cultural connections and follow influences and family trees. I still do it now when hunting for tunes.

Good to see Handsome Dick gettin' paid. A list, to celebrate:

BitterOldPunk's 5 Most-Played Punk Songs on his iPod:

1. Stiff Little Fingers -- Suspect Device
2. Dillinger Four -- Shiny Things Is Good
3. The Queers -- From Your Boy*
4. The Clash -- Clampdown
5. Screeching Weasel -- Hey Suburbia

*I know this is a terrible, mawkish, deeply stupid song, OK? I know. Really. But it makes me happy.

I like your style, BOP.

Mine 5 most-played punk songs (going by my fast & loose definition of punk):
1. Sound System - Op Ivy
2. London Calling - The Clash
3. No Action - Elvis Costello
4. Ruby Soho - Rancid (huh?)
5. Gimme Danger - The Stooges (that's more like it)

5 most played punk songs this week or so:

The Offspring - Gone Away
The Ramones - I Wanna Be Sedated
The Clash - London Calling
Anarchy in the UK - Sex Pistols
Forgotten Rebels - In Love with the System

Hmm. Since "Clampdown" and "Suspect Device" have already been singled out, I'll go with the following:

The Ramones - Teenage Lobotomy
The Clash - White Man (In Hammersmith Palais)
Dead Kennedys - Holiday In Cambodia
X - We're Desperate
The Buzzcocks - What Do I Get

Kevin Guilfoile did not write the fucking Book of Lists. About 50 people wrote bits and pieces of it and Irving Wallace's family threw the whole thing together, throwing out almost as much as they put in. I know, because I wrote for the fucking Book of Lists and got paid for two lists they never published, therefore my name doesn't appear on the fine-print page with the other 50 people who wrote the fucking Book of Lists. Maybe if I'd been a little more openly pissed at that, I might have shown the right attitude to contribute to the Punk Rock Book of Lists. sigh.

Anything "official" can not also be "punk rock" at the same time.
