In fairness, what else is there to do in rural Oz? Tossing off koalas has to lose its magic sooner or later, and then it's just eat drink eat drink eat drink eat drink bloat bloat bloat die.
This is problem for hospitals too. They are having to buy chairs, exam tables, operating tables, gurneys, walkers, wheel chairs, and more, that can support more than 2000 lbs. Also, they are having record numbers of injured staff caused but obese folks grabbing for support or leverage.
And Lentro, everything is so far away from everything else in rural Oz, you can burn off all the calories from eating and drinking just going home from the saloon (and I'm talking about driving home - you can drive after drinking there because there are no other drivers and damn few trees). At least that's what the old Paul Hogan TV shows taught me.
Well, it used to be that distances in rural Australia were measured not in miles or kilometres, but in six-packs. If you asked someone "how far is it to Cunnamulla?", they might tell you that it is "about one-and-a-half six-packs", but times have changed somewhat. Probably not much, though.
