Whoah, that's a cool site, iconomy! Maybe you should post that to MeFi. I bet lots of people would be interested in a place to look up things. How would you describe it, I wonder? A searching machine? A look-up engine? That's a tough one.

As a derail, I just downloaded Abiword onto this new machine, because I don't need Office except for word processing and so far I'm impressed. I had to do a little hack (which I found on this amazing website of the type described above where-you-type-in-something-and-it-finds-answers) to make sure it opens in my employer's default font, and that it saves as .doc automatically, but it does everything I need it to do and anything I've emailed into the office to work on in Word has looked fine.

It is the most annoying thing about OpenOffice (it's No. 5 in the user FAQ; so we might not be alone in hating it), but otherwise, oh how I love OpenOffice.

That's actually my favorite feature of OO but YMMV. I almost never have to use it now though since all of the documents that I write are on the company wiki but when I was in school I loved the auto-complete function.

Thanks iconomy! I googled and used the help files for about 10 minutes, and the fact that I wasn't finding it told me that I was probably some kind of information-searching cripple. I was right! :)
