Prison Thriller. This video is great. Over 1,000 inmates at a prison in the Phillipines perform Michael Jackson's Thriller. They're so earnest!

I was thinking to myself, "Huh, how did they get that pretty woman in there to perform with them," until she turned around. Then -- eek!

Prisons in the Philippines seem to enjoy making large numbers of people dance (this one is the Algorithm March).

So strange. And apparently, "At the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC), the approach to rehabilitation is discipline, physical fitness, dismantling of the culture of corruption and preemptive decongestion."

One of the things that struck me about the Thriller video, and then again about the video that the great big mulp linked is that no one seems to be enjoying what they're doing at all. There's no joy or sense of absurdity, but that may because they've done it eleventy thousand times. And because, you know. They're in jail.
