The rain's getting harder here - I was thinking the forecast was exaggerated, as it'd been raining steadily but not that hard, but it's not letting up... I don't have to go out, thankfully, but am fearing for my basement office...

We have refugees, literally, here at our office. One person has a Range Rover, but I don't even know that it will get through.

Now I feel foolish because I was fretting about my feet getting soaked on the way to the bus stop this morning. Stay safe, UKers!

My brother went through this a few weeks ago, and it was a nightmare. He couldn't get home, he couldn't get to work, he had friends that lost everything. Luckily he was OK.

Of course, (and I'm not griping at you here - just griping at the london-centric media), because this happened in unfamiliar cities like Sheffield and Hull nobody really noticed it. I'm sort of hoping that a few thousand people do get flooded out within distance of the M25 so I can nod smugly at the disproportionate media response and reflect back some of the things people said.

e.g. Television's response on hearing about the flooding in Hull: "Everybody's been evacuated from Hull. Not because of the flooding. No - they were evacuated because it's a shit hole."

Hull is getting hit AGAIN.
