Oh my! I love butter.
I mean LOVE butter.

I had a friend who was raised on a farm, and part of her childhood morning ritual after milking the cow was to skim off the cream and make butter.

She would occasionally treat us to homemade honey butter, using store-bought whipping cream. She'd use a sealable container (like a tupperware thing) and put in the cream and just shake the crap out of it until it started curding up. Then, she'd pour off the liquid (whey? buttermilk?), put in a smidge of honey, and shake it some more.

Holy crap, I'm gonna have to put whipping cream on the shopping list now.

Mmm... Butter!

I *love* butter, it's one of the finest things ever and doesn't contain a list of hideous oils and chemicals. (Also: why is Amazon selling that?!)

Yum. Nice article - thanks for sharing that! Really sounds delish.

Would it be even better if she used unpasteurized cream?

The Good Eats episode on butter is one of my favorites. God, I'm a dork.

My mom used to make strawberry butter, for putting in hot biscuits. It was SO SO good...

I'm with TheDonF - butter me, please - no hideous chemicals.

Ok, I use artificail sweetener, but that's not fake and. . .greasey.

Strawberry butter? Sounds delicious. I can image a nice, fat scone spread thickly with some. And strawberry jam. And clotted cream. Oh yeah...

I'm totally going to start making my own butter.

Oh, me too. I was so glad there was a recipe with the article. I must have spent an hour last night fantasizing about all the yummy things I could spread some fresh butter onto.

Not one single hurf durf reference yet? This makes me sad.

I was going to post that article with the "hurf durf" phrase but contessa beat me to it,

if that makes you feel better.
