heh. If you saw the 10 pairs of shoes scattered on the floor on the (invisible, cropped) right side of the room, it wouldn't look so elegant. I still haven't quite figured out where to put shoes.
I too have forgotten to take a picture, and I might when I get home. Probably not. My parents sort of used my room for storage when I was away at college and it's not fully recovered yet...

That room really is very lovely - light and airy and calm... but it's totally open to the outside with the French doors open (and there's no way I'm keeping them closed when it's not cold), and so has to be swept every single day. I don't, in fact, sweep it every single day... but it needs it. :)
The glowing substance on the wall isn't a bodily fluid, at least not an adult bodily fluid. While taking this pic I could see all kinds of stuff. Droplets of grape juice, milk. Those damn kids are barbarians.

My mum bought the night stands in the '50s or '60s, lamps and quilt/shams are from Linens 'n' Things. One of my sisters-in-law crocheted the afghan.

The antique dresser was my great-grandmothers. I bought the lingerie chest at a second hand store and repainted it. I want to get rid of it and get an antique chest.
As you can probably tell, it's a small bedroom. The dressers are in a niche at the foot of the bed and the small walk-in closet is off to the left if you're facing the bed.
That's really a nice room, mullacc - with high ceilings, it looks like, and the cool windows. It would be excellent if you put one or two really nice, big tree/plants. \woo.
All of your beds are making me jealous, especially as I am currently sleeping on a 15-year-old mattress set along with a bed frame that I swear is as old as I am. No headboard, no footboard, and crap everywhere.
Here, however, is what I want to sleep on. The price is pretty good for a bedroom set made from sustainably harvested wood, but it's still out of my range at the moment. Alas.
This is a bed that has seen no action at all. None. At. All. I decorated the bedroom (badly) when I split from my ex-husband and it's been an all-girl zone ever since (George never making it across the pond due to farm obligations).
It's time to change it, and it's my next project. I have a picture in my mind of how it's going to look, and it certainly won't have a sweet little patchwork quilt with matching curtains and kitties. Oh no. It will be a boudoir.
taz - nothing above my bed except a window with a roller blind. I want to get an antique headboard, but haven't started looking yet. The roller blind is great for sleeping in a dark room, but it's ugly by itself so simple drapes (linen?) are on the list.
Hey, "Crooked Elvis" would be a great band name! Back when we were signing up for jobs in our metachat commune/utopia, I think I volunteered for official picture straightener... I was totally serious. :)
