2do or not 2do What's on your lifetime ToDo list? What are those things that you would do if only you had a the time? →[More:]
Me: learn to play Flamenco guitar, the German language, the Ruby language and 3D character animation.
Compile my family pictures / genealogy / fill in the gaps. I inherited all of it from both sides (because I'm interested in family history), but a good amount rests in an antique desk and some hardshell suitcases due to a lack of time. I get it out every so often.
Also, I'd love to help design and program a computer game.
Hmmm...travel around the world, and learn at least fifteen more languages at least at a conversational level.
Yeah skydiving is on my list. I actually was going to do it for my 21st bday and was talked out of it, still kinda pissed off at myself for letting someone talk me out of it. Fuck you, so what if I go splat. It's my business. Oh well.
Most of what I want to do these days is less "if I had the time" and more "if I had the money" though. At least twenty countries I'd like to visit for one thing.
Create a sort of geneology movie - a film that tells all the stories I've heard about my family and my daughters fathers family. Mainly story-telling, but also some interviews with people who won't be with us yaknow, thirty years from now. So that my girl can watch it when she gets older and laugh at all the nutters that she stems from.
I crossed a big one off my list last year, when I went to Hawaii and saw lava flowing into the ocean. Next, I need to touch it.
I'm in the midst of fulfilling another, learning guitar. Last night, my wife described my in-bed playing as "magic," and mused about how good I'll be in 5 years.
I'm happy to say there aren't really any others, except, like, moving to Hawaii and getting better at guitar.
People who worry about getting hurt while skydiving really should think twice about getting in their cars everyday.
do it, dabitch! I found out that I had a million questions for my grandmother - after she was gone. I'm now very curious about very many things in my family, and most of the people who could answer those questios aren't here.
1. Spend three months traveling Europe, or six months for that matter.
2. Stay in one of those ritzy spas in Utah or Arizona that all of the celebrities go to.
Realistically, things I could do now, but I'm lazy:
1. Organize and make digital or real photo albums of the thousands of pics I have stored on the computer.
2. Make my backyard into an even more beautiful garden retreat.
