Country Fried Tomatoes...OMG! [More:]

These are orgasmic and you must make them.

They go so well with so many things, and are especially great with cookout/picnic type food. Super easy, and just as delish cold as hot.

Country Fried Tomatoes

bread crumbs
butter
cream cheese
big ripe tomatoes
eggs

Just slice the tomatoes and make sandwiches by putting cream cheese in between two slices. Dip them in egg and then bread crumbs and fry them in butter until golden brown. Everyone loves them. [NOT VEGANS THO]
Not very good pics, but I was in a hurry.

The cream cheese gets all oozy and the bread crumbs make the outside crunchy...soooooo gooooood! It's sweet and salty and savory all at the same time. I get four good slices to use out of every tomato, and save the smallish ends to saute with green beans and garlic, so nothing goes to waste.

Oooh, that looks wonderful.

Alternately, try battering and frying some super-crunchy thick tomato rounds, then cover in hollandaise. Yum.

I miss the South.

Dude, that guy in the chicken fried bacon video looks and talks almost exactly like my Uncle Red.

Come to think of it, Uncle Red would probably eat chicken fried bacon, too.
