John Doe at Amoeba Records. I saw this in-store performance the other night -- the first time I've ever seen him solo. He and his band did a sweet little set, and I'm now totally over the moon for the song "Golden State" off his new album -- I think I've listened to it a couple dozen times since Tuesday night. Lucky scody! I bought the album but haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. All my X is packed away...I should have brought over my music from 240 to the condo in a wheelie, but I didn't think it would take this long---though this was the place where the thugs attacked the guy who wrote the story in the NYT a few weeks ago: across the street from a high school; I was groped once in front of a cop.
