Something to keep your mind off Paris Hilton: Watch the Space Shuttle Lift-off in the next 20 minutes (we hope)
I heard the judge just ordered the shuttle back to the pad. Bad case of space herpes. The horror.
Heavens, the power.

So cool, Lori, a rare occasion when I'm NOT glad I don't live in Florida... May I repost one of them on my bloggyblog?

Thanks scody. They could be better. A lot better. We're an hour and a half from the cape. I forgot to bring the camera out and I ran back in to grab it. It's the brightest and biggest when it first appears over the housetops. We always make a point to watch it go up. Sometimes we walk over to the beach. Sometimes we drive to the Cape. Discovery Launch, July 4, 2006. But usually we just walk outside.

Neat!

How loud is the shuttle?

I think it's pretty loud jason, but I've never been that close to hear it in person. Even when we go to the park near the launch pad, you can't really hear it across the water.
