Walking With Dinosaurs--LIVE!!! I just bought tickets. My kid is going to have a joy freak out when she gets to see dinos actual size.
Aw, rock on! I would have loved this when I was her age.

Rock on. Gotta see it.

(Even, typically, though I feel guilty that millions were spent on this whilst most of the world dies slowly. Way to take the fun out of things, Cheerful Shane.)

If you clean your plate, waste nothing, and eat all of your vegetables, the starving kids in [Asia/Africa/LA] don't actually benefit. If you don't spend millions on [dinosaurs/NASA/TVs/iPods] the world will still die at exactly the same pace. Poverty, war, disease, and the poisoning of our planet are not issues that can be solved with a checkbook. They are not problems with essentially economic solutions. They are issues of political will. And I don't mean Western political will, either. I mean global political will. Walk with dinosaurs in peace. No guilt required. (No actual dinosaurs or starving third-world babies were harmed in the making of this comment.)
You've given me a joy freak out by introducing the phrase joy freak out to my lexicon. Thank you!

Wow, IRFH is getting his profundity on!

I have no qualms about this at all, shane. Anything that encourages my girlie's love of science is cool. The world needs more female scientists. Who knows--she could go on to end world hunger someday. Or cure dinosaur cancer.
