Worst. Snack. Ever. That is all.
You probably shouldn't look at what's inside.

You knew, Specklet, you just knew, didn't you, that I wouldn't be able to resist clicking those links?

Jan: are you speaking from experience or just from what you imagine it must be like to eat one of those things? If you had one, I simultaneously commend and curse you. You have marvelous gastrointestinal fortitude and in turn you are heartless and evil.

Personally, I probably wouldn't eat one.

Upon viewing speck's links: OH GOD. Make that definitely wouldn't eat one!

Nor would I CF.

Ick. Yuck. Disgusting. Not the egg, the idea that eating it would make invalids want to do it.

I bet these would be better if you soaked them in Kool-Aid for a while...

If they can squick out ColdChef, they are truly disgusting.

Wimps. They are good and nutritious. I won the balut eating contest at my high school (Wagner High School ,Clark Air Base, Philippines) during my senior year.

Essexjan: Oh thank goodness. I feared the worst.

That is all kinds of repellent. That's just wrong. Really fecking wrong.

Oh, Ewwww. Ewww. Ewww. Ewww. Sorry, I can be adventurous when it comes to food sometimes, but this is not one of those times.

I'd never heard of these until I saw Andrew Zimmern eat one on Bizarre Foods.

If you haven’t eaten fertilized duck embryos, then you haven’t lived. They taste like teeny iron-y liver balls with a duck burp on the back end.

I highly recommend that show...that guy is fearless when it comes to food.

Those are/were popular in the Philippines (I believe "balut" is Tagalog). When I went to high school there, our school had a freshman welcome party. I almost didn't go because it was rumored that as part of an initiation-type thing that we would all be forced to eat one of these things. Thankfully I was wrong. I don't think I'd be able to finish a balut without upchucking.

Beats the hell out of Kinder Toys, doesn't it?

Meh, it's just an egg. A very mature egg, but still an egg.
