This is a wedding thread My boss is getting married and I have no idea what to get her....[More:]This is my first wedding for a real adult. All the other weddings I've gone to have been for my poor friends, who I give cash and/or something silly. But you can't give your boss cash. I'm looking at the registry of crystal and kitchen stuff and I.don't.know. what to get. So difficult! Eeeee.
If you can afford to, just get something off the registry. If you can't afford it, then get them a gift card to the store at which they are registered.

Towels are also a good idea. You can never have too many towels.

Just pick something off the registry. Everything that's on there, they want, unless they are dumb (and hopefully they have a wide price range of stuff)

Yea, I'll probably end up doing something from the registery and also something fun, too. But so many CHOICES ahhhhhhhhhhhh.

I was going to say towels too! Nice, fluffy white towels. I've done towels a lot. Is she registered for a nice coffee maker? Something around 100 bucks? That's a good gift.

Pick something from the registry that's on sale. That way they think you spent more than you actually did. That's what I do. (Unless we're close, then I'll give you cash presented in an odd way--like in a nice picture frame along with a funny picture of us.)

How many weddings are people going to this summer? As far as I know, this is my only one.

I've just got one in October. My very first boyfriend--the boy who gave me my first kiss--is marrying one of my favorite co-workers. They met without my help. Small world.

I have one on the 9th and one on the 16th of June. And then none until November (in which mr. g is best man - for reals he's been best man for like, 8 million weddings and I've never even been a bridesmaid. Everybody loves him :) )

None this year that I know of.

My friends are mostly sad single old maids like me, so the chance of any of us ever being invited to a wedding again is negligible.

Oh, of course, I forgot. My friend got married last week and didn't invite me.

Thank the gods, the wedding years seem to finally be behind me. My daughter went to one last weekend though and at the reception? The bridal party came out to the theme from Monday Night Football, followed closely by Are You Ready to Rumble, shaking pom poms. And the colors were purple (for the Baltimore Ravens) and salmon pink, which always looks so attractive on everyone.

Nice, fluffy white towels.

YMMV, but many who color their hair at home are not fans of the white towels.

My little sister is getting married in a couple months. She ordered all the bridesmaid's dresses, since she got a deal on them through her future mother in law. I finally convinced her to send me mine so I woudn't have to fly to Boston to get fitted.

Uh, hi, sis, I've been sewing for a decade. I take in other people's bridesmaid's dresses. I can hack my own.

And ej, your "friend" is a total dip. And you should so totally add blue food dye to everything in her fridge while she is away. (missed the first thread)

Here's a thought on the towel idea....

A nice woven basket, two fluffy towels (perhaps the registry will give you color ideas), four small candles, two wine glasses, and a bottle of wine (or sparkling water/juice if they don't drink). That way, you can get them towels from the registry, and spice it up a little to make it special.
