I really like David Hyde Pierce as a character actor (if for nothing else than his contribution to the Simpsons) and he just seems to be a great person. A few years ago I read a thing about how he had stopped into a diner and ordered a coffee and a Danish. When he paid the tab he looked at his change and handed the woman serving him a nickel and said "This is your tip. Don't spend it. Take it to a coin collector." She got something like $300.00 for it.
