Sigh: Reality Show incest [More:]Last night, my wife was watching an episode of Miami Ink when the guys from American Choppers appeared and got tattoos- something I had predicted previously.

Then there was the real world star who dropped by in the same episode to get lips on her ass.

Poorly done product placement is annoying enough, but when it's an attempt to promote other shows it really disintegrates any belief that the events they're portraying aren't staged.

Soon the Flavor of Love girls will get their hair done by the haircutting show people and end up appearing as guests at someone's less-than-sweet sixteen.
"Reality", paradoxically enough, is a relative term these days, definitely one that can never be applied in its traditional meaning to any entertainment show on television.

I've seen this done on other reality shows. When I watch both shows and get to see both episodes featuring the taped scenes, it feels like one step closer to reality/truth (seeing more than side of the same event). But it's not really.

I miss having TLC and kind of liked Miami Ink. Time to go look up photos of Yoji's baby.

It's fun when sitcoms do it. There were a couple cross overs between Mad About You and Friends because of Lisa's roles in both.

And of course Simpsons and Futurama are rife with the things.

Hmph. Next thing you know, Michael Jackson pops up on "dateline: to catch a predator".
