Yes, I did the ceiling, using a roller on a long handle. The ceiling only needed one coat, it was already white and the room has never had a smoker in it, so it was pretty clean.

I was going to do the woodwork today but think I'll have a day off today. It's a holiday weekend so I have an extra day to get everything finished. The new flooring goes down on Wednesday.

i hate painting with really long sticks but you do get some serious delts that way. With most painting with sticks, actually.

Congrats! I suck at painting. All blotchy and uneven. A bit like my lawn mowing.

The flooring is being supplied and fitted by a local firm. It's vinyl on a roll, looks like oak boards. It'll be warm underfoot and easy to maintain.

Also I learned today that the one-coat gloss paint called 'Once' does exactly what it says on the tin, unlike the crap emulsion. Went on like a dream. I've done the skirting boards, door frames, radiator and pipe work (concrete floors, so the copper pipe for the heating runs round the edge of the skirting board) and it was easy-peasy. Tomorrow I finish the painting, I have the doors to do (three in all, two on a cupboard and one for the room).

When the floor is fitted and the room is finished, pictures of the before, during and after will be flickr'd.
