It's gorgeous outside! →[More:]
It's supposed to be nearly 70º today! I love it! I walked to my next class after history today, got to the first step outside the building, and decided I couldn't bear to sit in philosophy on a day like this. Best present evar.

/me leans back in chair, puts feet up on desk, breathes a sigh of satisfaction.

(I'm now pretty positive I had S.A.D. for the majority of winter because I am practically high right now. WOO!)

Life is good.

Winds 225 at 15, humid, clouding up, t-storms expected, after 2 days of unusually dry air and clear skies. I have to leave the car at the Firestone and walk down the hill to the apt after work -- looks like I might get wet.

It's in the seventies here in Queens. I'm out on my wonderful back porch with a beer, some smokes and the iPod hi-fi blaring Carla Thomas' 'B-A-B-Y.' I've also got three good books (Edward Conlon's Blue Blood, Mordecai Richler's Barney's Version, and a collection of articles by Chuck Klosterman, that I plan to alternate between like a bee at flowers. Life can be pretty cool.

It was so gorgeous here all weekend that I scrapped my productive Saturday plans and spent the whole day downtown with my camera and MP3 player, strolling around and having an absolute blast. I've worked several 50-60 hour weeks in the past month, so spending a whole day on my own, outside, with no agenda, made me almost deliriously happy.

Sitting out here listening I've come to an important conclusion: Black Oak Arkansas' 'Lord Have Mercy On My Soul' is the definitive butt-rock song, the buttiest ever, it encapsulates everything people love and hate about the genre in one beautifully ridiculous record.

It was 87 yesterday and will get into the mid-80s again today. Finally. But, darn it, I'm in this funk where I don't care about the weather and just want to crawl under the covers.

There is a God! It's 87 degrees here in Boston. This is likely a set-up, though. Watch -- we'll get snow this weekend -- or, something like it.

I spent all day walking around in Central Park, occasionally stopping to read a little Roman historical fiction. Beautiful day. Almost makes me not mind unemployment.

Yep, the tinting on our windows makes today look like every other day. If I really want to see what the weather is like, I have to go out through the security doors to the floor lobby, down the lift to the ground floor, out through the lobby and into the street. I just don't care that much.
