OMG Tornado! →[More:] The pic is radar for the DFW area. My house is near the black circle. There is a tornado in the system that is already past us, at the south end of the northerly system. So that part missed us, but the next wave is a comin'.

In that first system there is a tornado and baseball-sized hail.

Holy crap. I cannot imagine what BASEBALL-sized hail would sound like hitting a house. A couple years ago we got some golf ball sized hail and a ton of people had to get new roofing. In fact, I think tomorrow is the cut off date that people can submit insurance claims for that hailstorm...they've been running ads on the radio and tv about it. (By a couple years ago I mean sometime within the last two years - my memory is fuzzy on this as it didn't damage my roof.)

My house is southeast of the blue dot on the county line. I think it'll miss us though.

I actually just got back from picking up some food from cheddars. There was a big black ominous curtain to the west.

They said they're getting reports of a grocery store roof coming off at "121 & Beach"... that's a Wal-Mart maybe. And also near there, a report of "semi trailers piled on top of each other".

Got some industrial buildings too; showing that on Channel 5. Some roofs and walls near Northeast Mall.

It wasn't Wal-Mart, it was Minyard's that lost the roof. A small church was destroyed nearby.

In the aftermath I found out we were much closer to a tornado than I thought. It turns out there was one in the system just west of my house, with the system moving east, that apparently only briefly touched down.
