The park is about half an hour from here. I want to go and ride The Screamer and scream, then get thrown off, then ride again, and scream, and get thrown off, then get thrown out, then file a complaint with the ACLU.
I was wondering if the park was there before the houses were built or whether the park came later. If someone built a house near an amusement park, isn't it something they should've thought about before buying?
It's on 80 near Roseville. If you're headed towards Reno, it's on the left.
I always thought it was just a mini-golf course. I don't know if they've always had rides and they just aren't visible from the interstate, or if this is their first.
Holly: The park has been there for 30 years, according to one article I read. Dunno about the houses.
But shit, it's right on the interstate. It's not like they had a quiet neighborhood before the ride opened.
I saw this on CNN earlier this week! The ride looks like a blast. I too would be interested to know whether the rides or the houses are older... I bet the houses are, though, in which case they have my sympathy. (Lives near an airport that "will never allow jets," that now allows jets.)
The price of suburban sprawl, I suppose. I worked at a small airport when I was in high school, and houses were popping up all around it. They always complained. Didn't help that the airport was built before all of them, and in the middle of nowhere to boot.
My favorites were the folks that decided to get married at the airport (it had a nice little gazebo and restaurant) and wanted all the air traffic halted during the ceremony.
