Sunrise Lose the trees, add urban streetscape of telephone poles,wires, streetlights, sidewalks, brick, asphalt and concrete and
this is what I saw on the way to work. In in sections, in three brief glimpses down three different streets as the bus made a turn. I thought of Hokusai's
36 Views of Fuji. And the cottonwoods were blooming in the courtyard in front of where I work and the air is all winey turpentiney as a result. It smells like a camping trip. And the birds were singing as ever.

And, actually, the clouds in the sky were already golden and the sun was on the mountain. But you get the idea. The sun itself came over the Cascades just as I pulled the cord to bet off at my stop. This is not a bad week to ride the bus to work.
