chatter about topics that may not belong on MetaFilter. Questions? Check the FAQ. Please note: This is important.

I've been thinking about some answers that were given on AskMe, and I would like to discuss the general gist of them here. Is this something I should avoid?
Posts about or links to Metafilter (edit: or any part of MF) are usually fine unless:
* You want to bring some drama to our attention.
* You want to us to laugh at someone you think is an idiot.
* You feel you've been on the receiving end of some injustice either from Matt or Jess or another user.
* "Wouldn't it be cool if we all went to Mefi and did X?" No. No it wouldn't.
So if what you want to discuss wasn't described above, go for it!
I think there have often been MeCha posts like, "The answers to this AskMe made me start thinking about how we deal with X in this society. What are your thoughts?" Those sorts of posts usually seem fine, I think.
Thanks iconomy.

I think some answers on a particular question are over-the-top, but I'll refrain from discussing them here. I'm sure the answerers mean well, and I wouldn't want to stir anything up.

occhiblu, I was going to frame my question like this. I'm still unsure if it's worth mentioning. Probably not. ; )
