CF's story turned out fine. So now the bunnies can focus sending happy thoughts to you and Mango! I hope the little gal is just having an off day. I will start beaming happy thoughts....now.

My kitty Widget has had diahrea (sp) the past two nights. I can hear him in the litterbox--he's a big kitty. If it doesn't clear up soon he'll have to make the trip to the vet, which he hates in itself. Ghaaah.

Mango and I are home, snuggling. She's going to be ok. The vet took xrays and bloodwork. They didn't have to put her out for this, which was a huge relief to me. The vet said she's very well socialized - she didn't stay curled up in a ball like a lot of hedgehogs do at the vet. This helped them get good xrays of her.

Her white blood cell count is a bit high, but she doesn't have parasites in her poo. So there's something going on inside her little system, but they can't pinpoint one thing. Her bone density is a bit low, which is a point of concern - since she's getting the right diet, she may have a metabolic issue in absorbing the right nutrients.

They gave her an injection of antibiotics, which she did NOT like, and sent me home with some medication for her. I have to give it to her orally twice a day, another thing she does NOT like. I also have to find somewhere to buy earthworms for her. They're higher in calcium than any other live food she normally gets.

But she's warm now and snuggly with momma. Thank you for all your well wishes and bunny vibes! Mango sends you all whuffles!

Good news! I think hedgehogs are just the cutest things. I'm glad she'll be okay.

Oh yes, there was much frothing today when I gave her the medicine. There was hedgehog spit all over me and the pillows on our bed. Then she contorted herself to scratch the spot where the vet injected her other meds.

Would you be able to get earthworms from a bait store? Just an idea.
