I am so proud! [More:]My little sister, who is in her first year of college for an arts and business degree, has started her own internet shop. She is awesome. This is not a pitch, it's just to say how proud I am of this person whom I love very much.

We didn't grow up together and have never been very close and I'm super surprised to suddenly realize that she's becoming a unique and very talented adult with a wicked sense of humor. I still tend to picture her as a ten-year-old sometimes.

Who/what are you proud of today?
Brittanie, tell her "how proud I am" and hug her at the next opportunity.

She's 6,000 miles away, pooh. Besides, I want THE WORLD to know how awesome she is.

Brittanie. It may not be a pitch, but I've knocked out the links to the shop because it sort of felt like one. My email's in my profile if you want to discuss it. I'm being a little heavy handed.

And yeah - Give the girl a big old hug. *** INTERNET HUGS WORK TOO ***
I'm not proud of anyone today. But then I've just woken up and I'm a little cranky.

I second arse. I know this isn't what you were going for with your post, Brittanie. My brother and I grew up 1- years and many miles apart. If you tell her you're proud of her, you'll do much more good than any chat-site thread ever will.

So, if you haven't already, tell her that you're proud.

And, on preview, what seanyboy said.

I've told her many times. I'm just still amazed by her. Mea culpa on the links, it's all good.

1- years and many miles apart = 10 years and...

And there was me thinking it was a Victorian affectation. But I only say that because I was born in 19--.

I'm glad I got to the links before seanyboy did. I want Bones. Heh, all the art I have currently hanging was bought from Mefites or given to me by Mefites.

Well now i wanna see the little shoppe, which might be for the best dead skin slougher for all i know.
Can we have a little in thread pride?

i feel proud of a friend of mine for finally seeing a therapist and i feel a bit more okay with myself than i did, say, yesterday, which is a nice change.

It wasn't a complete shop by Brittanie's sis, was it? More of a cafepress / ebay kind of thing where she had a booth. Having said that, I rather liked it and hadn't come across it before. It's all art and craft, and the design (while a bit derivative) had some interesting aspects. What do you say s______? Would it kill us to put a link to the shop front?

I felt a little iffy putting the links in, actually, but my giddiness got the best of me. The post was supposed to be less about "Buy my sister's stuff" and more about "Wow, I guess I know who got all the talent in the family."

Gecko, the site is called Etsy, and yes, it's like an eBay but strictly for handmade goods, everything from knitted scarves to jewelry to clothing to original artwork.

Those interested in the link can email me...

Don't worry, I didn't feel pressured at all. I just liked what I saw and decided to hang it on my wall. Well, if it's not too small.

Hm... I was going to email you Brittanie, but there's no email in your profile. I know mine is there - wanna email me the link? :)

I *LOVE* Etsy!
