'The Death of Mr. Lazarescu' comes to Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill. Memo to our Triangle members/readers. If you like De Sica and Rossellini or simply want to experience something completely different from the usual Hollywood film, this is your chance.
Damn! I'll be out of town. I hope its run lasts more than one week.

I live in the Triangle (Carrboro), and we ended up just renting it via Netflix. Sad to say, though, I wasn't as enamored with the film as many others were. Perhaps because my husband never allowed me to concentrate fully, he sat next to me, sighing and squirming the entire time. He is a fan of fast pacing and sharp editing (think Bruce Willis, think Die Hard and the like). This movie was certainly not his type, and his failure to enjoy it certainly tainted my own.

Thanks for the tip, matteo. I'll have to wait for the nutshell version in the listing section since I couldn't weed through that winding review. Maybe I'm like msali's hubby and I should skip it!
