I love the fact that the guy's lawyer says it's not such a big deal because it's an arranged marriage and they're from different cultural backgrounds.

Right. So what you're saying is that (1) In this guy's culture, a proper wife would never refuse to have sex with her husband, and (2) if he gauged her eyes out she wouldn't report him to police.

Just cultural differences, that's all.
