A work in progress. Social network maps are fun!
That's very cool!

kind of cool, but missing some major names, and I'm not sure what the lines of influence (or whatever) indicate. Influenced by? Played with? Played songs of...

I've always thought that there where a handful of musicians that are remarkably connected to a surprisingly large number of other musicians (Tom Waits, Randy Newman...)

Yeah, this shouldn't be considered in any way complete. I just started with a few bands I like, and followed wikipedia links to shared band members. There are a few "super" groups with rotating lineups that connect just about everybody within a couple of jumps, including Queens of the Stone Age, which is one the map, and Pigface, which isn't on there yet.

I think it's a cool enough project I'm going to give my own version a shot.

(great, something else to spend my time on... heh)

Man, I could spend hours just on connecting the KC/Lawrence connection, with the DC DeSoto connection, and Ken Andrews (who produced Molly McGuire's Lime, which featured on drums Jason Motherfucking Gerken, who later drummed for Shiner, whose final album was engineered by J. Robbins, who was then part of Burning Airlines, which had formed out of the ashes of Jawbox, the half of which that didn't go into Burning Airlines went into forming DeSoto Records, who, among others, put out the Dismemberment Plan's albums. And I didn't even mention Season to Risk...).

Yeah.
