Three Point Status Report The link has nothing to do with my TPS report, it is just really cute.[More:]
1) I had a nice chat with my ex-boss, which has vastly improved my confidence for the Glasgow job search.
2) I just made pappadums, and they were gooood!
3) I will now hoover the living room.
1. I love how "Hoover" is a verb in the UK.

2. It's sunny and beautiful here, finally, finally.

3. Most of my backlog at work is cleared out. Now I'm only late on things whose deadlines are coming up soon, not on things whose deadlines have already passed.

1. I am recovering from a cold/flu thing. People at work keep commenting that my cough doesn't sound good. I thought it sounded sexy until they all started saying something. *rolls eyes*

2. I am very excited about lunch. I have leftover tequila lime chicken with spicy mashed potatoes and corn. I only have 15 minutes to go! And the spicy will help me breathe.

3. I am attempting to find a reason to use my graphics pad and do some fun photoshop stuff this evening. Suggestions are welcome.

1. Got up early to work out. Pool of coolant on garage floor. Didn't go work out but waited around to take car to dealer. Water pump most likely. $385. But free oil change, which is due.

2. Was depending on workout then shower. Neither happened. I am at work unshaved and grungy.

3. New office partner. He will work out OK but a very different person than me. In the past, a lot of homophobic quips, which is par for this place but now he's in MY office, that stuff will get cut off at the pass first time it arises.

1. Haircut looked good the morning after, when I washed out the salon product. Looks kinda '50's greaser. (I asked the hairdresser "I'm looking for something rockabilly.." "I don't know Rocker Billy." (*sigh*) She did good anyway.

2. Worked my way into the middle fifties in the countdown.

3. Watched season 2 of The Wire with Pips and Hugh Janus last night while eating hummus, steak and pasta. Twas fun.

Ooh... hummus, steak and pasta. I just had a BIG chunk of roast for dinner last night. I'm so hungry!!

Leftover pot roast (with potatoes, onions, mushrooms, garlic, turnips, and carrots) last night for me, too, youngergirl44. Now it's back to the diet, unfortunately.

1) Waiting around to talk with my boss about the techs doing my work on W/T/F. Have to catch her before 1.30, and she's been talking to someone else for the last hour.

2) Apparently I have a heart murmur. I don't really know what that is.

3) Warmer weather makes me very happy.

(bonus!) Homemade vindaloo pork for dinner! YUM!

1. Am sore from dancing my ass off on Saturday night in new sex-ay corset.

2. Eyes are burny: computer/lack of sleep/bawling head off at animals on best of Nature (PBS) show.

3. Have boring lunch, may spring for pho later.

1. I'm so happy the weather is nice in NYC. No more coldness, please!
2. I can't wait to go visit my pastors and their baby.
3. I just sold my soul to T-Mobile for a cheap phone. A PINK ONE! A PINK RAZOR OMG! I'm excited.

1. Had an awesome weekend that involved being outside for most of it. YAY, SPRING!

2. I'm reminded again today that I some of the producer's I work with think their job is just to change stuff at random, regardless of if the changes improve the project or not. They feel they wouldn't be doing their job if they didn't change SOMETHING, so when presented with a story that's already good, they start dicking around with things that are a colossal pain, weaken the story, and accomplish nothing. Then they get pissy when you argue them down on it.

3. At least I got to sleep in a couple of hours this morning, though it means I'll be here later than usual this afternoon.

Cool.

1. I failed my "28 poems by the end of February" mission in spectacular fashion. It was very disappointing. At least I now no longer have Sky1 (TV Channel), and am unable to waste my life on StarGate reruns.

2. Kudos to the Women of Metachat. I missed / didn't know what to say on Womans day and in the various "We are Wimmin - Hear us Roar" threads. Which was a shame. I'm enamoured of this place and its femininity but every time I try and talk about it I get all sidetracked down a million and one sub-roads. Needless to say, You all rock and one day I'll tell you the stories about the women I've known and been related to. From a possibly imagined suffragette great-grandmother to the Greenham Common antics of my friends mother.

3. Did I imagine a three. I knew there were three things I needed to say, but for the life of me the last one escapes me. I updated my Wii Code on the wiki (I'd originally typed it in wrong), so you can be a Mii Friend (No idea what that involves, but hey. Maybe, that wasn't my third thing, but it'll do for the time being.

1. For some reason, possibly laziness or incompetence, there's an assload of bullshit daylight-savings-related computer problems here at the workplace.

2. For lunch today, I'm going to go to the 'serious sandwiches' place. And tonight, Mexican food.

3. I ordered a piece of machinery, because I'd like to get an image of it tattooed on myself, and I can't find any high-res pictures online.

1. Yes, finally sunny and gorgeous here. Makes my heart smile.
2. Last night, managed to both smash our stoneware crock-pot and lose the right nose-pad on my spectacles. Lucky bonus - none of the stoneware made its way into the yummy cheese soup.
3. Have lost four pounds so far in our "Lose Weight Before Key West Trip" countdown. But am looking at a 50+ hour work week coming at me, so will not have much time to work out.

1. It's a beautiful day today and I went for a lovely walk at lunchtime. It looks as if the grebe chicks which were born far too early and which I thought had died when we had a bad storm a few weeks ago have in fact survived because there was a pair of adult grebes feeding two 'teenage' grebes. And the other grebes, as well as the swans, mallards, coots and cormorants are also nest-building around Millwall Docks.

2. I have lamb shank with leek gravy for dinner tonight. I'll have it with brown rice and broccoli, I think.

3. Tonight is the final of Project Catwalk (the UK's version of Project Runway). I am torn between the two designers I want to win, but will probably root for Monika because she has stayed true to herself throughout the series. I am a sucker for 'contestant' shows where there are weekly eliminations.

Oh, and seanyboy, I was at Greenham Common for a short while.

1- The wife is out of town and will be for weeks. I'm gonna do a whole lotta talking to myself (and the cats) in March.

2- I may be going to New Orleans for at least part of the Jazz and Heritage Festival. This is cool, though I am still unclear how my usual job reconciles with being on site.

(Actually it's not entirely cool. Travel freaks me out, even when it's to somewhere neat. I am a total homebody.)

3- I keep getting interlibrary loans when I already have a pile of books that I need to read.

Additional update: My lunch was just as wonderful as I thought it would be. I have to think about how I made the chicken, but I want to put the recipe on Cooking with MetaChat. It's just so dang good.

1. I installed a window perch over at my mom's for her cats. She and her husband couldn't figure out that if they'd just open the window it would be easy to remove the cover for cleaning. They didn't install the perch yesterday because they couldn't figure out how they would get the cover off the cushion to clean it.

2. Later I took my mom to the grocery and on the way back she asked me to look in the cabinet over her fridge (she is short) because her husband misplaced one of her cookie sheets. She then complained about having to use one of the super big cookie sheets the last time they had garlic bread. To which I said, "Why didn't you just use a sheet of foil, you dumbass?" (Because I was still being a smart ass from the non-issue with the cat perch.)

3. I'm annoyed that NBC isn't even showing a Heroes repeat tonight. (Nevermind that I've seen them all recently online.)

I have this weird neck muscle pain today. The worst kind. Ugh, is it 5 yet?

You only get one today. This neck muscle thing is seriously killing me.

4. I had a large Vietnamese meal for lunch and now I'm very sleepy.

5. At the top of my to do list it says: scan Mrs' Parson's magazine pages and send back to her. Unbent.

6. The new food I'm giving the gliders is nutritionally complete but is making them smell funny.

I was okay until about an hour ago...

1: Dammit, I am not your PHP and CSS monkey. If you don't start trying to work out your own problems instead of emailing me *every, single time* you get stuck, I *will* start charging you.

2: Dammit, I am not your IT help desk. If you used Google for more than 30 seconds, you've find an answer to your bloody problem.

3: Dammit, our company made a bucketload of cash last year and yet you want me to spend my time at home, for your team, recording BBC radio interviews and burning them to CD to save you about £100. You're the media team, that's your job - if you weren't so bloody spendthrift and luddite, you'd sort this yourself.

Gah! Wankers!

But, other than that, my day was good. The weather was fine, my 1:1 was good and the office was quiet.

1. I need to finish my grades. They must be emailed before I leave for work tomorrow. Two more stacks of papers to go. Let's hear it for speed grading.

2. I also have to finish rereading The Sun Also Rises for the quiz I'm giving tomorrow. I need to assign less work.

3. Need Corn Pops.

1. Made yet another appointment to speak with a teacher about my ADHD son's class work. First they say they'll work with him, then this one teacher wants to dun him for his handwriting. Gaaahh!! I hate school more now than when I was in it.
2. Have to call a doctor about my shoulder or live in pain forever.
3. Really want to go outside and play!!!

1.The horrible designer told me it would take another six weeks for the work to start in the kitchen--when I told her last November she could start in January-- and the contractor's insurance needs to be renewed, which may well take another month. I sent off a furious email to her and my lawyer this morning--telling her that I should have thrown her out of my place when she simpered I shouldn't have it, not to fucking give me the "six more weeks" shit and I really didn't give a damn that she had had cancer.
2. I was supposed to get together with someone for lunch on Saturday, but she canceled.
3.Looked for new shoes that I will now have to order from a place in Boston.

1. Went to a funeral yesterday, which is never a good thing
2. At the wake, I caught up with lots of people I hadn't seen for a long time, which is a good thing
3. The last time I saw many of those people was the last time we gathered for the funeral of one of our friends killed in the same way, which I think is a bad thing. Either I need to get together with people more, which means travelling to more races, or we need to make changes to the rules to stop people getting killed. Or, preferably, both.
