Seeds of Love - Tears for Fears fans, of their work on the Hurting and/or Songs from the Big Chair; what did/do you think of Seeds of Love (the song)? Too cheesy? Awesome? The end of TfF as we know it?
Too cheesy, but hard to dislike regardless.

It was during the time I was part of the writing staff for a radio comedy service (you think the local djs came up with their own jokes?) and everybody came up with a parody lyric for that song. The winning lyric (not mine) was titled "Ripping the Beatles Off", it was funny, nasty and pretty much on target, and I could never again hear that song without thinking of that lyric.

I love it. I just 7 albums of tears for fears on soulseek if you want em. s/n: courtsiem. It's good stuff.

I liked the song but always felt it was a Beatles pastiche.

Being a big psych-pop fan I liked it but I think coming back from a long break with a Beatles pastiche was a big mistake as it gave the impression they'd run out of ideas (and gave no clues as to what the album was like).

At the time I thought it was blander than bland. It's kind of sweetly nostalgic now.

I loved Tears for Fears back in the day. Seeds of Love was catchy, I liked the song, but like a couple others better.

In the context of when it came out, it was truly awful, in my opinion. By that time the psychedelia phase of 80's rock was already tired and played-out, and then here was Tears for Fears and Daryll Hall jumping on the trippy bandwagon a few years too late.
But in retrospect, it's still awful.

I actually like that song, but loathe just about everything else they ever did. And Daryl Hall's "Dreamtime" is an excellent pop-psyche single.

I don't like it because it fakes me out every time I hear the start of it. It's like that Oasis song, I forget what it's called, oh yeah, all of them, whereby I hear them on the radio and I think it's the Beatles until about 20 seconds in.

Seeds of Love is the death of not only TFF, but of music as a whole. Why they dropped that poopie on top of their previous, highly-cool catalog defies my powers of logic.

Eideteker? Drop that poopie and pay attention to me!

I like it a lot better now than I used to.
