Bosom Buddies →[More:]Did you ever have a friend to whom you could tell anything and you knew that no-matter what, you’d get the soundest advice that you could possibly hope for (other than on Mecha and Mefi of course)?
I have a friend like that, and this thread is in celebration of him, and any of the friends that you all might have who are in that very exclusive club.
A few days ago I was having doubts about my job again, so I sent him an email about it, and here’s an excerpt of what he wrote:
The advice I can give you on it is this: regardless of how technical it may get, keep in mind that you could be mired in a worse job without the option of leaving and know that it's only for a finite period of time, that you're bound for bigger and better things and your hours spent toiling there are character-building and help you to appreciate the hard work required to make something great of your life. (I've incorporated most of that into my approach to my job and it's gotten a lot easier to take. I know I won't be there forever, that this period will be the last chapter of my E! True Hollywood Story before the narrator says "...and then **** ********* started his illustrious career with a short film called ******** *******.") The jobs that are the worst for me to handle are the ones where I don't feel stimulated mentally. Even jobs that do stimulate me mentally aren't guaranteed to be jobs that I look forward to, but at least I'm not aggravated so much and am not looking for every potential chance to quit. So yeah, hope things go well.
