Good thoughts brigade, please line up here: My grandma, who turned 90 two weeks ago, fell and broke her hip last night.
→[More:]
She's having surgery within the hour. It'll be her second hip replacement; she had the other done 10 years ago or so.
She's very high-risk for surgery. She's had congestive heart failure for 10 years (and was even in hospice care for a couple of those) and she's generally very frail. Her risk of stroke and heart failure during the surgery are extremely high. (My grandfather died during open heart surgery about 15 years ago. I'm sure this is not lost on her.)
I think she's ready to go. Of course, the rest of us don't want her to. I just called to tell her I love her, but I feel like I might have been saying goodbye.
Anyway, if y'all could spare some positive thoughts or prayers or whatever and broadcast them this morning, I'd feel better.
Thanks.
