per photo fried-ay suggestions, how about: -babies tomorrow [suggested by mgl.]
-sacred things next week [fenriq's idea that might need more prep time.]
-toys after that [from bp; oh my, i could go nuts w/ that.]
-followed by maybe femme fatales [also bp] if it's not too sexist [femme fatales & homme fatales as well?], including weretable's hot sluts with big butts [which i find not sexist at all.]
[As always, please interpret as liberally as you like.]
ALSO, would you folks suggest to me what i should look for in a decent-priced laptop to be used mainly for art and graphics (loaded with Corel, Adobe, PSP, and weighed down with lots of large img files)? sorry! long post! but we got a lot done, eh?
oh, and, pi: please make us all into cats. should we send you photos of ourselves?

At the risk of sounding obvious, screen. Quality, size, resolution, horizontal/vertical angle. I've got an HP, and the vertical angle is absolutely horrendous, if I'm too close, I can't get the bottom and top colors to be correct at the same time, and it glares like hell. You might want a little portability, so size may have constraints, but resolution, quality, bright, glare do not usually affect bulk.

If you're using it for graphics, a tablet might be good. being able to draw, drag/drop, whatever directly on the screen should make your work more efficient. Tablets are quite expensive, though, and they tend to come in smaller sizes.

As for the tech stuff, LOTS of memory. Ensure it's either equipped or cheaply upgradable to at least 2GB of RAM. Hard disk space is nice too, but you can just buy a 500G external drive when you need it. A dual core processor is also a nice to have, so your machine doesn't stall while you're applying processor-heavy transforms. An integrated graphics card should be enough, I think, if you're not doing anything 3d.

How about an "I commented in the wrong thread by mistake" theme?

Isn't that (rather good) advice on what laptop shane should buy? (As requested).

And I would have said "hommes fatals", even though it looks stupid.

THANKS! i need a laptop for portability. need to wake in the middle of the night and do art, or fall asleep doing it. need also to bring the 'puter downstairs when the foster dogs whine with separation anxiety, also sometimes need to lie down on my stomach so the cats can't get on my lap between me and the keyboard.

income tax refund is forthcoming.

pitiful.
