04 March 2007

This weekend I treated myself to... [More:]
...a graphics tablet, a memory upgrade for my laptop, Toffifay, Coffee Crisp, and new DVD's - The Producers, Jim Gaffigan: Beyond the Pale, Wimbledon, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Man of the Year, Little Miss Sunshine, Open Season, The Prestige, Robin Hood, Brother Bear, Thank You for Smoking, Stranger Than Fiction, 13 Going on 30, and Lady in the Water.

The boyfriend treated himself to four DVD's, an Xbox 360, and a Samsung 71" HD TV. As if our current 53" wasn't big enough. The funniest part is this: after dinner he came to the sad realization that the new TV is bigger than he is, by 2".

So the new TV will get delivered on Tuesday. It's an open box model, and I wasn't about help bring it up three flights of stairs and into the apartment. I try to feign disinterest, but I actually might take Tuesday off to play with it.
Now that is some serious splurging! I congratulate you on spending a huge amount of money in a short amount of time.

Wow youngergirl you've been shopping fool. :) Your boyfriend sounds like my husband. He would love to buy a 71" television. I had to put my foot down, we already have two monstrosities. He's a great fan of the open box specials too.

It's corporate bonus time at AT&T and I got my tax refund. The rest of my refund will go to pay for bills though. No more splurging for me.

Lori: since he's not a husband, it's really his money and I can't put my foot down too hard. It's nice that he consults with me before he makes big purchases though. I at least talked him out of us moving it oun our own.

Wow, and I thought I was splurging when I bought the premium gasoline and the super-sized sandwich.

(I hope you got the Criterion Fear and Loathing--it's got a bunch of nifty extras.)

ok a 71" instead of a 53"¿ Wow. My computer monitor is larger than my tv. oh, I'd love a flat screen, maybe 32", but...

I think it's interesting, Toffifi and coffee crisps too. I'd call it a mid winter blues project. hee-hee. Sweet.

Well, we were in the never-ending line at Fry's Electronics and they had food and snacks along the way. That was the last place I'd expect to find any 'gourmet' candies. But there they were.

Our 52" in the bedroom doubles as a second monitor for the two computers in there. We bought that one on Valentine's day last year. How romantic. :)

A 71 inch television? How far away do you have to sit from it to keep from getting all wall-eyed? Yowie that's a big TV.

Sounds like fun, no splurging here since I got laid off.
