Emcee artistes! I have what might be a fun idea... →[More:]
I was playing with a kiddy collage toy
here. If you click "enter" you get a new window, now click "Face It!", and then the sketching child (you'll see the floating title "create"). Here you can drag and drop elements over a basic image, and reduce and enlarge them to create your own art collage. And I started thinking of dano's idea about artists passing on elements, and hit upon this possibility:
What if we set up an emcee (I'm thinking it could maybe be called "Emcee - Open Mic"?
or maybe not) wherein each player contributes one or two (depending on the number of players) graphic elements of any kind, with the only condition being that they are large enough and clean enough (no raggedy edges) that they can be manipulated easily - and then each player creates his or her own collage using these elements and nothing more. They can enlarge or shrink elements, reverse them or change their colors, repeat them, fade them, change background color, etc. (though we should start with the idea of a either a "light" or "dark" background, just to make it easier to have graphics that will work together).
Once the emcee is announced you get three days to send in your elements; after that everybody who has contributed elements gets a zipped folder containing all the art and they have seven days to make their collage, after which we display them the same way we display the corpses.
I figure there are some things I'm not thinking of, or certain ideas or restrictions that might make the whole thing better, but maybe we could discuss it and try a proof-of-concept version to see how it works?
