14 February 2007

My new dress is... dirty! So, I decided to spend my entire tax refund on new clothes, since I haven't really bought anything nice since dropping weight.[More:]
That included two very pricy Stop Staring dresses from Daddy O's. They arrived yesterday.

To my supreme joy, I now fit into their clothing!
To my supreme disgust there's a nasty white spot on one of the dresses. It could be food, it could be toothpaste, but in either case, it's obvious, about the size of a dime and pratically front and center, and the dress is dry clean only.

Would it be unreasonable for me to email them and ask they refund me $10 or $15 for the dry cleaning?

I'd say they need to exchange the dress.

Yes, an exchange, with them paying for S&H! Anything less is unacceptable.

Their dresses are adorable! And hot!

Oh and ask them if Bill Clinton was anywhere near the dress ;P

(because it's compulsary)

This thread is useless without pictures.

omg, iconomy wins the internet! Do ask them! They'll probably send you a free dress. :)

Cool clothes... I used to have a dress very much like this one, except not as long. And not so low cut. And it didn't have a flower on it. Did I mention that I used to have a dress almost nothing like the one in the link?

(do ask them if Clinton was anywhere in the vicinity of the dress, that is)

Sorry, gaspode... Were I at home I'd take some. Seemed... I don't know, wrong to wear a dress with a big ol' white stain on the front to the office.

Oh, and the stain is on this one, just where the red and black meet. I also got this one, which seems problem free so far. Other than the problem of making me worry if my butt looks too big in it.

(but I was running around last wearing it shouting about how I was wearing "skinny girl clothes!" Yeah, I've lost it.)

Oh these are awesome, awesome dresses kellydamnit. I may have to invest...

I guess Bill Clinton wasn't near your dress, because it isn't blue. But do call them first and get them to exchange it. Very good lookin' indeed.
Those men's shirts are pretty crazy. Fender Crosses¿ Jeebus.

Va-va-voom! Great dresses, kellydamnit. I nth the insistence on an exchange.

Holy crap. Those aren't dresses. YOU'VE DISCOVERED THE MISSING WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION.

The women's clothes on that site are so much more cool than the men's.

Not that I have any ideas. . just sayin'.

Great site, kellydamnit. It's a shame about the red/black dress. I liked that one too, even before I realized you'd bought it. Great minds think alike.

I love that dress.
So I did email them, I just said "well, it's dirty. what you gonna do?" (but nicer).

Honestlty, I'd prefer getting it cleaned to returning it. I live across the street from my cleaners and they're open decent hours. The post office, well, I'd have to miss work to get there. And I wanted to wear it friday night. I could take it in tomorrow AM and have it by friday after work.

I love the girly-girl dresses with the A-line/full-skirts. If only I hadn't forbidden myself from buying any new clothes. :(

Bummer about the dress kellydamnit - hopefully you'll hear back soon.

Very cute dresses, kellydamnit! Site is bookmarked.

Me, I want this sweater (not big enough tho').

Yeah, a lot of the stuff I liked wasn't available in my size.
But their sizes are bizarre... I got 3x and it's basically a 16. So I don't see how an XL can be a 14, when there's 1X and 2X in between them.
Although it's also junior's sizes, I think, so that could make sense. Is a junior's 20 like a normal 16?

They still rock... emailed me back saying they could send me a return label, have UPS pick it up with call tags, or if I want to get it cleaned, I can just mail them the receipt and they'll pay me back.
The woman I talked to was amazingly apologetic, so I'm planning to shop there again. Which is good, because I think I need this.
