Do you like Soul Music? The story of Northern Soul. (mp3) Because no-one liked the Detroit sound more than working class kids from the North of England. (Apologies for the quality of the recording)
That was an interesting description of one of the more bizarre forms of music collecting I've heard about. I had no idea. But now, all those stories about aging Brit rockers having Howlin' Wolf and Screamin' Jay Hawkins as early influences makes weird sense.
Seanyboy, this is awesome. (As an old mod, I've always found it delightful that the year I learned the most about American soul and R&B was the year I went to university in England.)
